Niagara the Beautiful
Hi Guys!
Over the summer I took a trip to Niagara Falls and I wanted to fill you guys in!
Let me just say, Niagara falls is breathtakingly beautiful. I've never seen anything like the falls before and I doubt I ever will.
Now, for those of you who don't know much about the falls, like me prior to my visit, Niagara Falls is not only ONE water fall! There are actually three distinct falls; Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. When you hear the name 'Niagara Falls', the iconic image that pops into your head is probably that of the Horseshoe Falls:
If you want to take a closer look at the Horseshoe Falls, as they're the farthest from the American side
(we didn't cross over to the Canadian side), you can take a ride on the Maid of the Mist! I would definitely recommend doing this, as this is the closest you will get to seeing the full glory of the falls. The boat ride takes you past all three of the falls, and you're given a complementary poncho because there is mist everywhere, and you will likely be sprayed by the falls or the waves they make.
You also MUST purchase tickets to the cave of the winds while visiting the falls. This isn't a cave at all, but a series of wooden walkways that take you right beneath the Bridal Veil Falls. WARNING - You're going to get wet! But it is OKAY, this will be the time of your life!
I absolutely loved this trip and would give it at least a 9.5/10, because there's always room for improvement unless it's Vegas;)
Let me know if you have any questions or comments, and if you've been thinking about visiting the falls, take the leap and DO IT! You won't regret it.
